Haley Outon's second home run of the game, a two run shot to left field in the sixth inning, lifted the Houston Cougars to the NCAA Austin Regional Championship, defeating Louisiana 4-1.

Outon's blast off Ashley Brignac came with two outs, as did her 2nd inning homer that gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

The Cajuns (51-11) came back to tie the game in the fifth inning, when Natalie Fernandez led off with a single. She was forced by Katie Smith before Nerissa Myers bounced a single up the middle. Christi Orgeron then looped a single to right to load the bases and Gabrielle Bridges lifted a sacrifice fly to tie the game at one apiece.

But a leadoff single set the stage for Outon's fifth homer of the season. Houston added an insurance run in the sixth.

Brignac (32-7) suffered the loss, allowing nine hits. Amanda Crabtree, who defeated the Cajuns in the first game of the regional gave up six hits, moving her record to 21-8.

Houston (43-16), coached by former Cajun All-American Kyla (Hall) Holas, advances to the super-regional against the winner of the Knoxville Region.
