The San Francisco Giants won Game 5 of the 2014 World Series, defeating the Kansas City Royals, 5-0, at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California on Sunday night.

The win by San Francisco gives them a two-games-to-one lead in the best-of-seven game series.

San Francisco got on the scoreboard first, in the bottom half of the second inning, when Brandon Crawford drove home Hunter Pence with a run-scoring groundout, to give them a 1-0 lead.

Crawford drove home another run in the bottom of the fourth, singling home Pablo Sandoval to make it 2-0, Giants.

The score stayed that way until the bottom of the eigth inning, when Juan Perez doubled off the centerfield wall, scoring Sandoval and Pence, to extend the San Francisco lead to 4-0.

The Giants added another insurance run in the bottom of the eigth, when Crawford drove home his third run of the game, singling home Perez to make it 5-0.

That was all Madison Bumgarner needed, as the San Francisco lefty threw a four-hit shutout.

Bumgarner allowed four hits, and struck out eight, without issuing a walk.

The 25-year old Bumgarner improved his career World Series record to a perfect 4-0, with a 0.29 ERA.

After the game, Crawford spoke about Bumgarner's performance, as well as the three RBI's he contributed.

Meanwhile, Giants manager Bruce Bochy also had high praise for Bumgarner.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday night in Kansas City at 7:07 pm (CDT).

Game 7, if necessary, would also be held in Kansas City, on Wednesday night.
