Kyries Hebert, President of Ky Cares Foundation, has teamed up with New Orleans Saints safety Roman Harper, President of Harper's Hope 4*1 Foundation, to host the 2013 Acadiana All-Star Weekend to benefit children in the Acadiana area.

It's an annual event that brings together athlete celebrities, such as former NFL star wideout Terrell Owens, former Carencro High, LSU and New England Patriot standout Kevin Faulk, and others to raise money that helps award scholarships to these children. In 2012, the foundation awarded over 500 scholarships to these children. The weekend is full of amazing events including the Annual Gala, Celebrity Basketball Game and Football Cheer Dance Camp for kids. Every ticket sold for The Acadiana All-Star Gala sponsors a child to attend the 2013 Kyries Hebert and Roman Harper Football, Cheer and Dance Camp.

Hebert, the former Eunice Bobcat who was a Class 4A All-State selection, was a standout defensive back for the Ragin' Cajuns football team from 1999-2001. He has 270 career tackles and led UL in tackles each of his three playing seasons. He was also a two-time All-Louisiana selection. He went on to play in the NFL. His most successful stint was during his two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, in 2008 and 2009, where he was the Bengals' Special Teams captain. Hebert also has played in the CFL.

While on the red carpet at the Kick Off Gala, he spoke about the Ky Cares Foundation:

The Ky Cares Foundation is founded to be a part of making a difference in the lives of the youth of Acadiana, and all over. We've actually traveled from Canada to California, just spreading the word and teaching kids about the importance of their education, discipline, respect, them leading goal-oriented lives, that these are important to young people. And being a position as a pro athlete is really a privilege and I understand the responsibility that I have to try to make a difference. And, those four, that's what Ky Cares has been able to do. And hopefully, we continue to bless young people and give adults, sponsors and parents a great chance to meet up with some cool celebrities along the way.

When asked about how much he's enjoying seeing the Ragin' Cajuns football team having so much success right now, Kyries Hebert said:

It's an absolute thrill to be able to watch my Cajuns win back-to-back bowl games and things of that sort. It's awesome. Coach Hud is doing a great job.
