The top-ranked Florida Gators captured a 5-4, come-from-behind victory over the 5th-ranked LSU Tigers, on Friday night, in the opener of their weekend, conference series.

Top-ranked Florida used a three-run ninth-inning to edge fifth-ranked LSU, 5-4, to open Southeastern Conference play in front of a record crowd of 10,220 fans on Friday in Alex Box Stadium.

After LSU took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, LSU closer Matty Ott entered the game to try and seal the win. After retiring the first batter her faced, Gator catcher Mike Zunino connected for a solo home run into the left field bleachers to tie the game 3-3.
