Going into the season, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns pitching situation was a question mark.

Now, for the second straight week, a Cajun has been named Pitcher of the Week by the Sun Belt Conference.

Louisiana sophomore hurler Summer Ellyson is the award winner this week and it's no surprise.

Ellyson turned in a pair of stellar performances against Oregon State and #2 Florida in winning the award.

On Thursday, she pitched 4.2 innings against Pac-12 foe Oregon State, then followed it up with an 11 inning triumph over the second ranked Gators.  In that outing, Ellyson threw 185 pitches in scattering eight hits over her complete game performance in the 4-3 Cajuns' win.

She is the second Cajun to win the award.  Kylie Jo Trahan was honored by the league earlier.

The Cajuns meet Southeastern Louisiana in the opening game of the Louisiana Classics tournament this Thursday at Lamson Park.
