Collegefootballtalk.com has given an endorsement, of sorts, to Louisiana Ragin' Cajun head football coach Mark Hudspeth, in relation to the job opening with the Vanderbilt Commodores.

In a Saturday post, talking about how former Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin made the position more appealing, Kevin McGuire says that if Vandy hires a sitting head coach "Hudspeth should be at the top of the list."

McGuire goes on to say that there are a number of current assistant coaches who would be attractive options.

Franklin, who guided Vanderbilt to a 24-15 record over three years, left the Commodores to accept the head coaching position at Penn St.

With Hudspeth at the helm, Louisiana has had three-consecutive 9-4 seasons, including a Sun Belt Conference title in 2013, as well as three-straight New Orleans Bowl victories.

Last week, it was reported that UL and Hudspeth were working on a  contract extension, his first since the completion of the 2011 season, when he coached the Cajuns to their first bowl appearance in 41 years.
