College football's four-team playoff which begins in 2014 has a new name, and it's exactly what it says it is.

Have you ever met someone who names their dog "dog." Chances are, the individual thinks they're being hip and cool, and that somehow their unoriginal play on word(s) is humorous? Well I have, and that person must be tight with BCS executive director Bill Hancock.

According to an espn.com report from Brett McMurphy, the new college football playoff will be called "college football playoff."

As simple as the name is, it's only a matter of time before the selection committee in charge of picking the 4 teams will turn a simple task into an impossible math equation.

If only the College Football Playoff can be as simple as its name. We can only hope.
