After throwing an 80-yard touchdown pass on the first play of overtime in the Broncos playoff win over the Steelers on Sunday, Tim Tebow once again became an emerging storyline in the NFL. While Denver’s miraculous record of success this season has often been attributed solely to Tebow, the Broncos quarterback is often quick to note that teamwork and perseverance are responsible for the victories.
Much like the Broncos, the high school-age characters of our Sports Movie of the Week, ‘Remember The Titans,’ became a better team by playing together. In this drama, which was released in 2000, Denzel Washington and Will Patton star as coaches of the newly, racially integrated T. C. Williams High School in suburban Washington, DC in 1971 .

After he sunk what seemed to be a half court shot worth $10,000 as part of a halftime promotion during Kentucky’s basketball game against South Carolina over the weekend, UK freshman student Vincent Swope was obviously beside himself with joy.
His excitement was tempered when an official informed him that since his foot had been slightly over the half court line when he released the ball, Supermarket chain Kroger, who were sponsoring the contest, may not pay him the cash price.
