Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns home, after a 24-day absence, on Saturday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad plays host to the WKU Hilltoppers in Sun Belt Conference action at Cajun Field.

Louisiana, who hasn’t played at home since October 23, when they fell to the Arkansas St. Red Wolves, 50-27, lost a heart breaker to the Florida Gators, 27-20, last Saturday, dropping them to 5-4 overall.

WKU, who won five of their first six games, and six of their first eight, has struggled of late, losing two straight games, and three of their last four, including a 37-28 setback to FAU last Saturday, dropping them to 6-4.

The Cajuns are 3-2 in Sun Belt Conference play, which puts them in fourth place, but they’re only one game out of second place, while the Hilltoppers currently stand at 3-3 in league play, good enough for a tie for fifth place.

Louisiana is led offensively by sophomore quarterback Terrance Broadway, who has thrown for 1,795 yards and 12 touchdowns this year, while WKU is paced by junior running back Antonio Andrews, who has rushed for 1,141 yards, along with eight touchdowns, and leads the nation in all-purpose yards.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 416.8 yards-per-game, which ranks fourth in the league, while the Hilltoppers are averaging 389.9 yards a contest, which ranks seventh.

Defensively, Louisiana ranks seventh, allowing 419.7 yards-per-game, while WKU ranks as the top unit in the league, allowing only 325.2 yards an outing.

The Cajuns lead the all-time series, 3-2, but WKU has won the last two meetings, including a 42-23 victory in Bowling Green, Kentucky last year.

Kick-off time is set for 6 o’clock.

You can catch all the play-by-play action on Sports Radio ESPN 1420, and espn1420.com, beginning with the pre-game show at 4 o’clock.
