Shawn Long had 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead four Cajuns in double figures as Louisiana broke a two game losing streak by rallying past Southern-New Orleans, 76-66 before 1,995 fans at the Cajundome.

Lousiana (2-2) struggled to shoot the ball in the first half and was outrebounded by the smaller Knights (2-1) and as a result, went into the locker room with a 28-26 deficit.

But the Cajuns came back in the second half, shooting 55.9 percent and outrebounding SUNO to pull away in the last eight minutes.

Eldridge Moore and freshman Steven Wronkoski each scored 12 points for the Cajuns, while Elfrid Payton tallied eleven.

Anthony Turner led SUNO with 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Joshua Major scored 15 on five of eight three point shooting.

Long scored only four points in the first half but took over the game in the second stanza, scoring repeatedly inside.  Bryant Mbamalu, who was scoreless in the first half, knocked down three triples in the second half, the only three the Cajuns made all night.

Moore added eight rebounds to go with his 12 points.  His brother, Russell Moore, Jr. scored five points for the Knights.

The Cajuns will now play four of their next five games on the road, beginning with a two game road trip starting Friday as they take on the New Mexico State Aggies at the Pan Am Center in Las Cruces, NM.  Gametime is at 8:30 (CST).
