The long trip to Boone proved to be unkind as the Ragin' Cajuns dropped the Sunday swing game to Appalachian State by the score of 7-4.

The Mountaineers jumped out to a six to nothing lead, then the Cajuns countered with three runs in the sixth. Unfortunately for Tony Robichaux's crew, they were only able to muster another run, which App State matched. The plane ride back from the North Carolina will be a lot less comfortable knowing what is at stake now in terms of postseason play.

Wyatt Marks and Chris Charpentier were both touched up for three earned runs a piece on Sunday, and closer Dylan Moore had to pitch three innings at the end of the game. No Cajuns registered multi-hit days, but Greg Davis did smash his fifth home run of the year on his way to a three-RBI day.

Now sitting with a 30-17 record, it appears a run through the Sun Belt Tournament is the safest bet on reaching the postseason for Louisiana'a Ragin' Cajuns. Only two series against South Alabama and UL-Monroe sit ahead, with a midweek matchup in Thibodaux smack dab in the middle. It's not a lot of time to rebound, but Coach Robichaux's teams aren't typically mopers.

Appalachian State is only a 15-34 baseball team. Whatever the issue was in Boone, Robichaux will do his best to eradicate it in practice. Time is precious now though.
