Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team picked up a non-conference home victory on Thursday night, defeating the McNeese St. Cowboys, 78-56, at the Cajundome.

McNeese St. led the game, 26-20, at the 7:05 mark of the first half, but the Cajuns outscored the Cowboys, 20-7 the rest of the half to take a 40-33 lead into the locker room at halftime.

UL never trailed in the second half, and went on to coast to the  78-56 victory.

Louisiana out-shot McNeese St. from the field, 57%-36%, and also out-rebounded the Cowboys, 31-25.

Junior center Kadeem Coleby led the way for the Cajuns, with 15 points and 8 rebounds, while freshman guard Elfrid Payton chipped in with 10 points and five assits.

Jeremie Mitchell paced the Cowboys in a losing cause with 18 points.

With the win, UL improved to 4-5 on the season, while McNeese St. fell to 3-4.

Louisiana returns to action on Saturday night, when they travel to Beaumont, Texas, to take on the Lamar Cardinals, in non-conference play.
