Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun fifth ranked baseball team topped the Georgia State Panthers by the score of 8-3 Friday night, improving to 20-2 overall, and 4-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Austin Robichaux (pictured) got it done on the mound again, putting on another fine performance in front of 3,729 Cajuns fans at M.L. Tigue Moore field. Coming off two complete game performances, Robichaux gave UL 8.0 innings, quieting the top ranked offense in the Sun Belt Conference. Robichaux held off the Georgia State hitters, allowing only one run on two hits with eight strikeouts and three walks, improving to 4-1 on the year. He's tallied 47 strikeouts on the season.

"After the ball left the park, Austin really shifted gears," UL coach Tony Robichaux said of his son's performance. "The guys in the middle of their order can really hit, but we did a good job pitching for the most part. The key is to keep the people in front of and behind them off base. We did that tonight."

Austin gave up a solo homerun to Georgia State's Nic Wilson in the top of the 2nd, followed by a base hit to the following batter. However, he settled in after that, retiring 18 of the next 20 Panther batters.

Louisiana's offense was efficient throughout the night, earning 10 hits off the Georgia State staff.

Ryan Wilson got things started in the first, jacking a 2 RBI double to deep right field.

Caleb Adams nailed a nailed a two-run homer to right in the field, giving Louisiana a commanding 4-1 lead. Adams led all hitters in the game with 3 hits.

UL would add one more in the 6th, and two more in the 7th.
