Louisiana Ragin' Cajun junior shortstop Blake Trahan named to the Perfect Game Preseason All-American Second Team, perfect game announced earlier today.

It marks the second preseason All-American team to recognize Trahan, as he was named to the Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-American Team in December.

Trahan, a junior from Kinder, LA., hit .355 with four homers and 49 RBI last season, despite batting in the leadoff spot for a good part of the season. He was part of a Cajuns’ infield that turned 62 double plays.

"This is a great honor for Blake and our program," UL head coach Tony Robichaux said in a University press release. "He has been an important part of the success that we have achieved the last couple of years, but if you were to ask him he would say none of this would be possible without his teammates. Blake is not only a great player, but he is also a great person off the field and I am glad he's getting recognized for the hard work and effort that he has put in."

Trahan was named All-American at the end of last season by ABCA (American Baseball Coaches’ Association) and by Perfect Game.

Louisiana's season begins Feb. 13-15 in San Antonio, Texas. against UTSA.
