Louisiana Ragin' Cajun head basketball coach Bob Marlin officially announced the expected signings of forwards Jerekius Davis and Jevonlean "Jay" Hedgeman.

Both players verbally pledged to sign with the Cajuns, though a verbal pledge is non-binding.

Yesterday marked the first day pledges could officially sign.

Davis comes to Louisiana from Provine High in Jackson, Mississippi. The 6'6 forward averaged 24.6 points and 11.0 rebounds a game his senior year.

"Jerekius is a combo forward that brings strength, scoring and rebounding to our team," Marlin said in a University press release. "He is a versatile player who shoots it well, has a strong upside and had a great career in a winning program at the high school level."

Hedgeman is a juco-transfer, coming to the Cajuns from San Jacinto College where he played the last two seasons.

A 6'7 forward, Hedgeman averaged 10.1 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game last season at San Jacinto.

Hedgemen played high school ball at Pearland high outside of Houston. He had an offer from Long Beach State, but elected to sign with Louisiana.

"Jay is a very versatile forward with length who can score and rebound the basketball," said Marlin. "He is another guy with a lot of potential and is both good defensively and is a good shooter. He also a proven winner who has had a lot of success at winning programs, starting at Pearland High school for Coach Steve Buckelew before taking San Jacinto to Hutchinson to the NJCAA Tournament."

Davis and Hedgemen join early signees point guard Corey Davis and shooting guard Tyrone Wooten in the 2015 Cajuns signing class.
