Brianna Cherry Named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun centerfielder Brianna Cherry was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week on Monday, after an impressive performance in the NFCA Lead Off Classic over the weekend.
The senior from Petal, Mississippi went 7-for-19 at the plate, with four home runs, and eight RBI’s, in helping the Cajuns to the tournament championship with a 4-1 record, with wins over South Florida, Illinois St., Hofstra, and James Madison.
For the season, Cherry is hitting a .415, with six homers, and 19 RBI’s.
Those six homers are just one shy of the seven she hit all of last season.
