The Ragin' Cajuns were on the West Coast before coming home to defeat UNO, and Bob Marlin met with the media to break it all down.

In the holiday season, Coach Marlin kicked things off talking about the gift his team gave him in their win over UNO. He wants more of the same moving forward from Santa.

"Hopefully, he'll bring us some more defense and rebounding like we had last night," Marlin said.

They picked up with win with Shawn Long resting for the entire first half, which Marlin explained was an intentional decision to help him recover from what he described as an "extremely hard" road trip. The planning, travel and timing of the Cajuns' expedition to California took its toll on the entire team, but they're back now and close to conference play.

The shooting has been an issue, but Marlin assured the fan base yet again that he's not worried. They're hitting them in practice, so he's sure they will start falling again soon.

As a coach, his focus is elsewhere.

"We can clean up some things, defensively especially." Marlin said.

An increased defensive effort might help them pick up their first road win of the season.

Their 4-6 record is a world of two opposites: 4-0 at home and 0-6 on the road. Clearly, there is talent on the squad, but how is the morale holding up after all the bad luck away from the Cajundome?

"We are disappointed but not discouraged with where we are," Marlin said.

There is only one exhibition game against Spring Hill (Dec. 30) separating the Ragin' Cajuns from Sun Belt Conference play (Dec. 2 vs App State), where Marlin hopes to correct the course of this season's ship.

If you want a deeper look at the team, take some time to watch his full press conference above. Plus, Coach Marlin's always good for a few jokes if you're paying attention.
