Awards and accolades continue to roll in for Ragin' Cajun Shortstop Blake Trahan. Add another LSWA Hitter of the Week title onto his growing list of achievements.

Trahan was rewarded by the Louisiana Sports Writers' Association for setting the batter's box ablaze last week, leading the Cajuns to wins in all four of their games. The preseason All-American tore the cover off the ball, hitting 8-13 (.615) with six doubles, three RBI's and a home run. He also crossed the plate for eight runs, while drawing seven walks (three intentional. Can you blame the pitcher?).

The hot week swinging the stick puts his batting average at an even .400 for the year, and he already has three-quarters of his previous season total for doubles (12 last season, 9 so far in 2015).

Heat is contagious when it comes to the Ragin' Cajuns. Trahan's surging play coincides with the current team form. Louisiana is now winners of six consecutive games, and if Trahan keeps playing like this, that number could keep growing.
