Free agent first baseman/designated hitter Billy Butler signed a three-year contract worth an estimated $30 million with the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday.

The 28-year old Butler, an All-Star back in 2012, hit a .271 with nine home runs and 66 runs batted in with the Kansas City Royals in 2014.

Butler, accumulated 1,273 hits, 127 homers, and 628 RBIs with the royals over eight years of his career.
