Brett Baer was one of the most consistent place kickers in America last year.  And, this year, he's getting some pre-season love.

Baer has been named to the Lou Groza Award watch list. The Groza award is given annually to the nation's best place kicker.

The senior from Brandon, MS led the nation in accuracy last year, making 18-20 field goal attempts.  His 50 yarder as time expired gave Louisiana a 32-30 win in the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl last December.

If Baer attempts 18 kicks this year, he will meet the minimum number to qualify for career accuracy.  He is 25-27 in his career in field goals.

Baer is one of 30 named to the pre-season list.
