The fans have spoken and they've named New Orleans Saints Alvin Kamara Pepsi Rookie of the Year.

Now, this is a different award than the AP Rookie of the Year but it's still nice recognition for the third round pick out of Tennessee and he remains one of the top candidates for the AP ROY.

This season Kamara did something that hadn't been done as a running back since Hall of Famer Gale Sayers. These two are the only rookies in NFL history to accumulate at least five rushing and receiving touchdowns, and return a kick-off for a touchdown. All together Kamara put together 728 rushing yards and hauled in 81 passes for 826 yards for a grand total of scrimmage 1,554 yards. In addition, he also contributed 14 total touchdowns, eight rushing, five receiving, and one kick-off.

Alvin Kamara beat out fellow rookies, Christian McCaffrey (CAR), Leonard Fournette (JAX), Kareem Hunt (KC), and teammate Marshon Lattimore.

The Associated Press Rookie of the Year Award will be announced Saturday during the NFL Honors show.
