DISCOVER ORANGE BOWL: #23 West Virginia (9-3) vs. #15 Clemson (10-3)
West Virginia closed the season on a three-game winning streak to win the Big East championship. While this may or may not be the Mountaineers’ final year in the Big East (depending on the outcome of two pending lawsuits), West Virginia is more than happy to represent the conference one last time in the Orange Bowl. Clemson, meanwhile, beat Virginia Tech twice this season, including 38-10 in the ACC title game, to clinch its first Atlantic Coast Conference championship since 1991 and first 10-win season since 1990.
NFL 2011 Season – Week 17 Recap
The Giants beat the Cowboys to win the NFC East, while the Bengals and Broncos lost, but received help from other teams to slip into the last remaining AFC playoff spots. The playoffs are scheduled to begin next Saturday, when Cincinnati travels to Houston and New Orleans hosts Detroit. On Sunday, Atlanta travels to New York, while Denver hosts Pittsburgh. Here’s a recap of all of the action from the NFL schedule in Week 17:
LSU Puts 5 On AP All-American Team
LSU Tiger cornerbacks Tyrann Mathieu and Morris Claiborne both received first-team AP All-American honors, marking the first time two CBs from the same school shared first-team honors. Punter Brad Wing made first-team as well, with guard Will Blackwell was named to the second-team. Defensive End Sam Montgomery earned third-team honors.
