Throughout the season we'll be keeping an eye on not only the Houston Astros but the Top 5 in MLB on a weekly basis, you can check out the entire list here.

The Houston Astros just took four of seven at home from the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians this past week wrapping up their homestand before they begin this week on the road.

Houston sits at 17-11 to begin this season and this week they've slipped a little bit in the weekly power rankings down to 2nd overall.

Here is this week's Top 5:

  1. Los Angeles Dodgers (19-11)-Up two from 3
  2. Houston Astros (17-11)-Down one to 2
  3. Tampa Bay Rays (18-9)-Steady at 3
  4. St. Louis Cardinals (17-10)-Up four to 4
  5. New York Yankees (17-11)-Up one from 6

The Houston Astros enjoyed a nice long homestand last week but this week they'll play all of their games on the road. They begin with a familiar opponent in the Twins (16-9) Monday-Thursday, a day off Friday and then playing the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (12-17) Saturday and Sunday.

A couple of teams who struggled last week around Major League Baseball were the Washington Nationals (12-14) who dropped four spots from 13 to 17. In addition, the Milwaukee Brewers (15-14) had a rough go of it being swept by the St. Louis Cardinals before taking two of three against the Mets in New York this past weekend, they dropped eight spots from 4th to 12th this week.

On the other side of the coin, the Twins jumped from 16th to 7th and the Arizona Diamondbacks (16-13) leapfrogged a bunch of teams this week bumping up from 21st to 11th.
