The weekly NFL Power Rankings were released today via ESPN.

Last week, despite the fact that the Saints won, they dropped down one spot in the power rankings. That was mainly due to the fact that the Seattle Seahwaks beat the number one team in the rankings, the Philadelphia Eagles.

At the time, I was a little skeptical that the Seahawks were awarded the sixth spot and the Saints fell one spot down to seventh.

This week, the New Orleans Saints returned to their old spot at sixth overall. Once again overtaking the Seattle despite the unfortunate loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

The top five this week is as followed:

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers (11-2) Up from fifth
  2. New England Patriots (10-3) Down one spot
  3. Philadelphia Eagles (11-2) Down one spot
  4. Los Angeles Rams (9-4) Stayed pat at four
  5. Minnesota Vikings (10-3) Down two spots

The top five got a little shook up this week due to the Patriots losing on Monday night, the Eagles losing Carson Wentz, and the Vikings losing to Carolina. The Steelers continued their winning ways, eight in a row and moved all the way up to the top spot.

The Saints will be home this weekend to the New York Jets, a team that just lost their starting quarterback in Josh McCown.
