To say Johnny Cash lived an interesting life would be an understatement. Even in 2019, we're still finding out things about him that many people never knew. For instance, did you know that in 1979 Johnny Cash became a Deputy Sheriff?

According to cbsnews.com, Nashville Sheriff Daron Hall recently unveiled a blown-up picture of Cash's September 1979 Davidson County, Tennessee deputy sheriff commission card.

The image is now on display at the Johnny Cash Museum.

Hall tells cbsnews.com that Cash's deputy sheriff commission card was found just sitting a box.

It's not known to what extent Cash utilized this deputy status, but as you know he believed quite strongly in prison and criminal justice reform.
