Things got chippy in the end, but the Golden State Warriors pushed the Houston Rockets aside in Game 5 to advance to the NBA Finals.

Despite a flying ninja-knee to the head of Klay Thompson, courtesy of Trevor Ariza, the Warriors soldiered through their assortment of bumps and bruises to pick up a 104-90 victory to put the Rockets to sleep. I would use emoji's to signify the Rockets' demise, but I don't want to lose my job. Instead, let Thomspon's response about getting kneed in the head speak for the victory.

"Little dizzy, but we got a week off," Thompson said after the game, in a rather tongue in cheek fashion.

Steph Curry donned a sleeve to protect his damaged elbow, but the MVP iced down his injuries knowing the next destination was the NBA Finals. His main competitor for the NBA's MVP trophy had quite a different experience. Rapper Lil' B will probably take credit for James Harden's poor performance after putting a "curse" on him, but let's be real. This result is way more damning for Harden than it is a credit to Lil' B's skills as a warlock.

With the Rockets' season on the line, Houston's bearded leading man turned the ball over 13 times. In the final minute and the game out of hand, he dribbled the ball off his foot in a characterization of the night at large. Most of the offensive load rides on his back, but giving the ball away that many times often leads to giving the game away as well. It would be cruel to put the loss solely on Harden's shoulders, but that is most likely where critics will place the blame in the history books.

The game ended with "MVP" chants showering down from Oracle Arena. Steph Curry, the man with the hardware, looks to add to his trophy shelf. The man who came in second place's offseason starts immediately.

In his first year as Head Coach, Steve Kerr put the Golden State Warriors into the NBA Finals for the first time in four decades. Mike Budenholzer won NBA Coach of the year, but Kerr would love another NBA Championship ring even more. He might start running out of fingers and room in the trophy case.
