The 10th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are off to a fast start in the 2019 college softball season, and pitcher Summer Ellyson is a big part of the reason why.

A prep standout at Teurlings, Ellyson currently leads the league in wins (7), ERA. (0.67), innings pitched (41.2), opponents batting average against (.126), and strikeouts (48).

Ellyson was named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week last week.

Offensively, catcher Lexie Comeaux leads the conference in slugging percentage (1.080), and is currently tied for the most home runs (4).

Kara Gremillion is tops in the league in runs scored (14), while Raina O'Neal is tied for the league lead in hits (16), and Keeli Milligan currently has the most stolen bases (15).

As a team, pitching-wise, Louisiana leads the league in ERA. (0.73) and strikeouts (71), ahead of Coastal Carolina, who ranks second in both categories (0.84 & 61).

Offensively, UL leads the way in batting average (.370), runs scored (98), stolen bases (46), on-base percentage (.461), and slugging percentage (.630), while currently ranking second in homers (15).
