A local product for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns will begin the 2020 college football season on the radar of the nation's premier all-star game.

Louisiana running back Raymond Calais was named to the Senior Bowl's 2020 Watch List earlier this week.

The Senior Bowl Watch List is made up of 475 players, from nearly every level of college football, who will be trying to fill the 110 roster spots that form the North and South squads at the 2020 Senior Bowl, which is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, in Mobile, Alabama.

Players not on the initial list can be added to the watch list during the season and be invited to the 2020 game.

Michigan has the most players on the Watch List, with 15, followed by Auburn, with 13, and then South Carolina and Ole Miss, each with 11.

LSU has 10 players on the list.

Last season, as a junior, Calais rushed for 754 yards and 7 touchdowns, while compiling 908  kickoff return yards.

In his UL career, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound Calais has rushed for 959 yards and 9 touchdowns, while accumulating 1952 kickoff return yards and two scores.

A former prep standout at Cecilia, Calais was named the Class 4A All-State Offensive Player of the Year, rushing for 2,681 yards and 31 touchdowns as a senior, after rushing for 2,228 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior.
