Congratulations are in order for a member of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football coaching staff.

Assistant coach Jabbar Juluke was named by FootballScoop as the 2019 Running Backs Coach of the Year on Wednesday.

Louisiana had one of the top rushing attacks in the nation in 2019, averaging 257.4 yards-per-game, which ranked sixth nationally, while also rushing for 42 touchdowns, which placed them third.

Junior running back Elijah Mitchell led the way on the ground for the Cajuns, rushing for  1,147 yards and 16 touchdowns,  while senior Raymond Calais and junior Trey Ragas. accumulated 886 yards and six touchdowns and 820 yards and 11 touchdowns, respectively.

Juluke, in his second season at the school, helped Louisiana to a school-record 11 wins in 2019, including a 27-17 triumph over Miami (Ohio) in the LendingTree Bowl on Monday night, their first bowl win since 2014.

A graduate of Southern, will receive his award and be recognized at an event at the AFCA Convention in January.
