Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball will play host to the Youngstown St. Penguins on Wednesday in the semifinal round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational.

Tipoff time is scheduled for 5 o’clock at the Cajundome.

Louisiana, the defending champions in the event, defeated Northwestern St. in the opening round, 69-54, before eliminating Stetson in second round action, 56-47.

The Cajuns, the top-seed in the west region, are currently 23-10 on the season, matching their win total from a season ago.

Youngstown St., members of the Horizon League, advanced to the semifinals with home wins over Stony Brook (67-60) and UMBC (67-48).

The Penguins, the second-seed in the west region, will bring an overall mark of 21-12 into the match-up.

The UL/Youngstown St. WBI semifinal game will be the front end of a day/night, men's/women's postseason doubleheader, with the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team hosting a CollegeInsider.com quarterfinal contest at 7:15 pm.
