Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Wednesday morning, when coach Garry Brodhead's squad plays host to the Houston Cougars in non-conference action.

The contest will mark the third-annual Education Game, in which many student, from grades 1-8 will be in attendance.

Tipoff time at the Cajundome is scheduled for 11 am, with students and chaperones being admitted free of charge.

The Cajuns, who beat Southern-New Orleans, 87-57, last Saturday, has won 2-straight, including 3 of their last 4, and are 4-2 on the young season.

Louisiana is being outscored by the opposition, 70.3/70.3, while also being outshot, 43%/39%, and outrebounded, 44.0/37.7.

The Cajuns are paced by senior guard Jaylyn Gordon, who is averaging 19.7 points and 3.3 rebounds, and junior forward Simone Fields, who is averaging 15.5 points, to go along with 8.5 rebounds.

Houston Cougars defeated Rutgers, 53-51, on Saturday night, to improve to 4-5 on the season.

The Cougars are being outscored by opponents, 64.9/63.0, while also being outshot, 42%/38%, and outrebounded, 40.8/38.9.

Houston is led by junior guard Chyanne Butler, who is averaging 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds-per-game, and freshman guard Angela Harris, who is at 9.6 and 1.1, respectively.

Houston defeated Louisiana, 52-51, last season, in Houston, Texas.
