UL Women Host Georgia St. – Inside The Numbers

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Thursday afternoon, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad plays host to the Georgia St. Panthers in a Sun Belt Conference affair at the Cajundome.
Tip-off time is scheduled for 5 o’clock, and you can hear the game on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 4:45 pm.
The game, will mark the second conference home game of the year for the Cajuns, and will be the opening game of a day/night, women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL men taking on Georgia St. about 35 minutes following the women’s tilt.
Louisiana, who fell to Appalachian St., 63-51, on Monday night, is 8-4, overall, and 0-3 in league play, while Georgia St., who defeated Texas St., 74-69, on Monday, is currently 7-5, and 2-1, respectively.
Including tonight’s game, UL will play four of their next five at home.
The Cajuns are out-scoring the opposition, 60.3/57.5, while being out-shot by foes from the floor, 40.6%/36.5%, and out-rebounded 37.8/36.6.
Louisiana is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 13.7 points-per-game, and junior guard Kia Wilridge, who is second on the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists at 12.3, 4.9, and 2.6, respectively.
The Panthers are out-scoring the opposition, 71.8/67.3, and out-shooting foes, 40.5%/39.9%, while holding down a 40.7.0/37.5 rebounding edge.
Georgia St. is paced by senior guard Kayla Nolan, who is averaging 12.3points, to go along with 5.8 rebounds a contest, and freshman guard Makeba Ponder, who is averaging 11.8 points and 1.4 rebounds-per-game.
Louisiana the all-time series, 2-1, including a two-game sweep of the Panthers a season ago.
