Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team fell on the road in non-conference action on Monday night, dropping a 80-59 decision to the McNeese St. Cowgirls, in Lake Charles.

UL was able to outshoot McNeese St. from the field, 40%-38%, but was able to convert on only 2-of-11 three-point shots, compared to 10-of-22 from behind the arc by their opponents.

The Cowgirls won the battle on the boards, out-rebounding the Cajuns by a 44-38 count.

Leading the way for McNeese St. was Candace LaCombe, who had a game-high 19 points, while Krystal Motley paced the Cajuns in a losing cause, with 16 points.

With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 3-1, while UL drop to 0-3.

The Cajuns return to action on Wednesday evening, when they travel to Riverside, California, to take on California-Riverside.
