The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are on the rise in a big way in the latest ESPN College Football Power Index, which was released on Sunday.

For the first time this season, Louisiana is listed in the top 40, coming in at #39, which is up 13 spots from last week, when they were #52, in the ESPN Power Index.

This marks the fourth-straight week, including eight of the last nine, that the Cajuns have either climbed or remained the same in the Power Index.

UL defeated Coastal Carolina., 48-7, last Thursday, to improve to 7-2, overall, and 4-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Cajuns, who have won 7 of their last 8 games, return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Mobile, Alabama to take on the South Alabama Jaguars in a Sun Belt Conference affair.

The Power Index still projects Louisiana to win 10 games this season and ranks their remaining schedule as one of the easiest, listing it at #129 among 130 FBS schools.

Ohio St. is ranked atop the ESPN Power Index, with Clemson, Alabama, LSU, and Georgia.

Louisiana is the highest-rated school from the Sun Belt Conference, ahead at Appalachian St. at #43.
