RCAF members will find out the new priority point system before Saturday's Spring Game, and the public will be able to help out and eat some crawfish in the process.

Aside from the free football game (scheduled for 2:00 PM start), there will be halftime entertainment, featuring a QB Challenge with familiar Cajun faces (Jake Delhomme, Brian Mitchell, Jerry Babb, Michael Desormeaux, Nathan Granger, Don Wallace). Fans will be able to go out on the field after the game to get autographs too, but you don't want to miss out on the festivities BEFORE the game either.

RCAF Members are asked to attend the first "Member Call-Out Meeting," and they will get their introduction to the new Priority Points System. The meeting will take place in Angelle Hall from 9:30-11:00 AM, and then it will be time to start boiling crawfish.

If you want to help out to the RCAF, all you need is $20 and an appetite. They will be hosting a crawfish boil (presented by Richard Farms, Crawfish Time and Comtech Systems of Louisiana) in Cajun Field, starting at noon, to get everybody ready for the Spring Football Game. You don't have to be an RCAF member to eat, and your contribution will help out the university. You'll get a full tray of crawfish (4-5 lbs) with corn and potatoes, and you know they'll be delicious. This crawfish season is producing some beauties, so get a full belly. The RCAF appreciates every dollar.

On top of the crawfish boil, there will be Family Fun Zone Activities in Cajun Field Lot A (children's fingerpainting, DJ music, inflatable games, food stations) and a Charles Tillman book signing inside Cajun Field at 1:00 pm. Who doesn't love "Peanut?" If you aren't familiar with his book (The Middle School Rules of Charles Tillman: "Peanut"), get your kids a copy before Saturday so they can meet Peanut too.

After you've filled your belly with crawfish, met Charles Tillman and watched Mark Hudspeth's team go at it on the football field, you can go out under the Oak (Southwest exit) and listen to some music. Lafayette's Bayou Boys will take the stage at 3:30, so you can plan your whole afternoon around Cajun Field.

If the weather cooperates, we could have a beautiful day for football, and a lot more, on Saturday. Bring the kids, bring your Cajun spirit, and if you're an RCAF member, bring your excitement. It's finally time for Execute Director Jim Harris to tell you about that Priority Points System.
