UL Softball Moves Up In Latest RPI Poll
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns have climbed a few spots in the latest college softball ratings percentage index (RPI) poll, which was released on Monday.
Louisiana, who is currently 26-5 on the season, including a perfect 9-0 Sun Belt Conference record, ranks number 33 this week, which is a five-spot jump from last week.
The Cajuns, who swept a three-game conference series from Georgia Southern last weekend, plays host to the Troy Trojans this weekend, in a three-game conference set.
Arizona is the top team in the RPI rankings, followed by Oregon, Auburn, Washington, and Florida in the top 5.
6-10 consists of Florida St., Texas A&M, UCLA, Baylor, and LSU.
Minnesota, Alabama, Tennessee, California, and James Madison are at 11-15, while Oklahoma, Kentucky, Michigan, South Carolina, and Utah round out the top 20.
BYU, Georgia, Illinois, Arizona St., and Missouri are in the 21-25 spots, respectively.
Louisiana is the highest ranked Sun Belt Conference school, followed by Texas St. (#38), South Alabama (#55), Georgia St. (#58), Coastal Carolina (#67), ULM (#100), UTA (#106), Georgia Southern (#108), Troy (#115), and Appalachian St. (#185).
