The 22nd-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns wrapped-up another Sun Belt Conference series win on Sunday.

Louisiana defeated the UTA Mavericks, 3-2, in 12 innings, in the rubber game of a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference series in Arlington, Texas.

The Cajuns scored an unearned run in the top half of the 12th inning, to move their record in extra innings to 6-3 on the season.

The two teams spilt a doubleheader on Saturday, with UTA winning the first game, 4-3, before the Cajuns captured game two, 6-1.

The triumph extends UL's current conference series win streak to 45-straight, dating back to March of 2013.

Louisiana got on the scoreboard first, plating a run in the top half of the second inning, when Kalyn Watts delivered a clutch two-out double, scoring Carrie Boswell, who singled earlier in the frame, to give them a 1-0 lead.

The Cajuns widened their lead in the top half of the third inning, when Kellie Martinez opened the frame with a single, before scoring on a sacrifice-fly off the bat of Alissa Dalton, to make it 2-0.

UTA drew closer, scoring a run in the bottom half of the 4th inning, when Reagan Wright hit a solo home run, her 12th long ball of the season, to trim the deficit to 2-1.

The Mavericks tied the game in the bottom half of the 7th inning, when Bryanna Datko began the frame with a triple, before scoring on an infield single off the bat of Bri Burchianti, to make it 2-2.

The score stayed that way until the top half of the 12th inning, when Louisiana scored an unearned run, as Casidy Chaumont was hit by a pitch, advanced to third on a throwing error, before scoring on a fielding error, to give them a 3-2 lead.

UTA loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom half of the 12th, but failed to score, as UL went on to the 3-2 win, and series triumph.

Louisiana, who was outhit by UTA, 8-5, was paced at the plate by Carrie Boswell, who collected two hits, while Watts and Dalton were credited with two runs batted in on the afternoon.

Casey Dixon (8-3) recorded the win in the circle for the Cajuns, tossing five innings of shutout relief, while allowing only one hit.

Randi Phillips (15-9), suffered the loss for the Mavericks, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits over 12.0 innings pitched.

Phillips ended up throwing 159 pitches in the game.
