The softball weekend in Waco, Texas didn't end as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns would have hoped.

10th-ranked Louisiana suffered their second-consecutive loss of the weekend on Sunday, falling to the 21st-ranked Baylor Bears, 4-3, in 8 innings, in the consolation game of the Baylor Invitational.

The setback was their second-straight, after North Texas put an end to UL's 14-game season-opening win streak, their longest since winning 14-straight games to begin the 2015 campaign, with a 5-1 victory over the Cajuns on Saturday.

The Cajuns, who won their first three games in the event, defeating Kent St. (21-5), Baylor (5-2), and North Texas (10-2), concluded the tournament with a 3-2 mark.

Baylor got on the scoreboard first, plating a run in the top half of the second inning, when Goose McGlaun walked, before later scoring on a Nicky Dawson double, to give them a 1-0 lead.

The Bears added another run in the top half of the third inning, when Kassidy Krupit belted a solo home run, her 4th of the season, to widen their advantage to 2-0.

Louisiana tied things in the bottom half of the 4th inning, when Lexie Comeaux came through with a clutch, 2-out double, scoring Bailey Curry and Alissa Dalton, to even the score, 2-2.

UL had an opportunity to take the lead in the bottom half of the 5th. Keeli Milligan opened the frame with an infield single, prior to stealing second, but the Cajuns couldn't come up with the big hit, and came away empty-handed, leaving runners at second and third.

The Cajuns had a chance to win it in the bottom half of the 7th, when Milligan reached on a 2-out single, stole second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch, but was stranded, as the game went to extra innings.

International rules in extra innings in the tournament meant that each team would begin their respective innings with a runner on second base.

Baylor scored the go-ahead runs in the top half of the 8th inning, when McGlaun singled home a run with two outs, giving them a 3-2 lead, before Dawson drove home a run of her own, to make it 4-2.

Louisiana scored a lone run in the bottom half of the 8th, when Alissa Dalton drove home a run with a ground out, to trim the deficit to 4-3.

The Cajuns had a runner at third with two outs, but failed to do anything more, as the Bears got the final out, and hung on for the 4-3 triumph.

Baylor, who outhit UL, 8-5, was paced at the plate by Dawson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in, and Krupit, who homered.

In a losing cause for the Cajuns, Comeaux drove home both of their runs.

Sidney Holman (5-2) recorded the win in the circle for the Bears, limiting Louisiana to three runs on five hits over 8 innings of work.

Summer Ellyson (8-2) suffered the loss for UL, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits in 8 innings.
