The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns continue to roll through Sun Belt Conference competition.

9th-ranked Louisiana defeated the South Alabama Jaguars, 14-0, in 6-inning mercy-rule fashion, in the final game of a three-game, weekend, league series in Mobile, Alabama on Sunday afternoon.

Louisiana junior right-hander Summer Ellyson was one of the many stories of the afternoon, twirling a 6-inning no-hitter.

With the win, UL completed a three-game game sweep in the series, and ran their Sun Belt Conference win streak to 9 games to begin this season, while improving their overall league win streak to 14 games, dating back to last year.

In addition, with their wins over South Alabama on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, the Cajuns extended their league series win streak to 48, a school and Sun Belt Conference record.

Louisiana has not dropped a conference series since the weekend of St. Patrick's Day in 2013.

The Cajuns, who won, 11-7, on Friday evening, and 11-2 on Saturday afternoon, ended up outscoring the Jaguars, 36-9, in the series.

Louisiana got on the scoreboard first, plating a run in the top half of the second inning, when Kara Gremillion singled with two outs, before scoring on a clutch double off the bat of Casidy Chaumont, to grab a 1-0 lead.

UL added four more runs in the top half of the 3rd inning, when Raina O'Neal crushed a two-run home run, her 8th of the season, before Bailey Curry drove home a run with a sacrifice-fly, and Chaumont brought home her second run of the game with a single, to widen their lead 5-0.

The Cajuns put the game completely away in the top half of the 5th inning, scoring two runs, including a solo homer by Curry, her third of the series, and her 6th of the season, before Chaumont drove home her third run of the contest with a sacrifice-fly, to make it 7-0.

Louisiana concluded the scoring in the top half of the 6th inning, plating seven runs on four hits, including a solo homer by Kourtney Gremillion, her 4th of the year, to make it 14-0.

That's was more than enough, as UL went on to the 14-0, 6-inning, mercy-rule triumph.

Louisiana, who outhit South Alabama, 13-0, was led at the plate by Chaumont, who went 2-for-2 with a double and three runs batted in, while O'Neal, Curry, and Kourtney Gremillion all homered.

Ellyson (18-4) recorded the win inside the circle for the Cajuns, tossing a 6-inning shutout no-hitter, while striking out 12 batters and walking only one in the process.

For Ellyson, it was the third no-hitter of her career.

Jamie Finnical (1-2) suffered the loss for the Jaguars, allowing 9 runs on 10 hits over 5.0 innings of work.
