There's is good news, and bad news, in terms of the weather forecast for Saturday, when the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns open up their 2019 college football season, taking on the Mississippi St. Bulldogs in New Orleans.

First the bad news; it's going to be hot on the final day of August.

Now the good news; it doesn't matter much, as Louisiana will be playing the Bulldogs inside the air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Of course, if you're driving to the game in the morning or walking/driving to the stadium in the morning, the weather does matter.

After partly cloudy skies on Saturday morning, the rain chances will be only at 10% for the remainder of the day.

So, other than it being warm; look for a good day, weather-wise, in New Orleans.

Expect an afternoon high near 90 degrees.

You can hear all the play-by-play on ESPN 1420, espn1420.com, and the ESPN 1420 mobile app, beginning with the Tailgate Show at 9 o'clock.
