A talented local product has decided to stay close to home, and play his college football for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

Trey Amos, an athlete from Catholic-New Iberia in New Iberia, Louisiana, issued a verbal pledge to Louisiana last Friday.

The 6-foot, 173-pound Amos, who projects as a cornerback at the collegiate level, is ranked by 247Sports as the #59 recruit in the state of Louisiana.

Amos, the 2019 Class 2A state champion in the long jump, is scheduled to graduate next spring.

Other schools who also reportedly offered Amos include Arkansas St., Louisiana Tech, ULM, South Alabama, Nicholls St., Southern, and Northwestern St.
