Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Thursday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Nicholls Colonels in non-conference action, as basketball returns to the Cajundome.

The game will be the back end of a day/night/women's/men's doubleheader, with the UL women facing Xavier (Louisiana) in the first game.

The women's game is scheduled to tipoff at 5 o'clock at the Cajundome, with the men getting underway at approximately 7:15 pm.

The men's game will serve as the second game of a short two-game homestand for Louisiana, who hits the road on Saturday, to face McNeese St..

The Cajuns, who beat Texas Southern, 84-73, last Sunday, has won 4-straight, and are 4-2 on the young season.

Louisiana is outscoring the opposition, 87.2/73.7, and outshooting them, 48%/44%, while also holding down a 40.8/33.3 rebound advantage.

The Cajuns are paced by junior guard Frank Bartley, who is averaging 17.0 points and 2.8 rebounds, and junior forward Bryce Washington, who is averaging 15.7 points, to go along with 11.2 rebounds.

Nicholls, a member of the Southland Conference, beat Samford last Sunday, 106-103, to improve to 4-3 on the season.

The Colonels are outscoring opponents, 74.8/74.1, while being outshot, 48%/44%, and outrebounded, 39.6/34.3.

Nicholls is led by senior guard DeAndre Harris, who is averaging 15.3 points and 3.5 rebounds-per-game, and senior forward Ja'Dante' Frye, who is at 14.7 and 7.0, respectively.
