After a dominant 16 run victory on Saturday, the Ragin' Cajun baseball team took a step back Sunday, losing to Troy 13-3. The Cajun loss gave the Trojans the series, as well as a 3 game lead for first place in the SBC standings. Here is more from the Ragin' Cajun athletic department and ragincajuns.com.

The Trojans opened the scoring in the bottom of the first as a shallow fly ball bounced over the reach of Petello allowing Workman (leadoff walk) to score from first base.

McCain, who struck out the side in the Cajuns half of the first, turned the trick again in the second inning.

An outfield assist by Matt Goulas kept the Trojans from adding to the lead in the second inning.

UL broke through on McCain in the third inning starting with a leadoff triple by Goulas to right center field. He scored when Fuselier dumped a single into center field.

With only 6 conference games left, the loss today puts a big dent in the Cajuns chances of winning back to back regular season conference championships.
UL now returns home to host the Rice Owls on Tuesday night at the "Tigue." The game is sold out, marking the first sellout at M.L. Tigue Moore field since 2002. First pitch is set for 5:30.
