The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are adding some junior college basketball experience.

Tim Buckley, of The Advertiser, tipped us on the commitment.

Smith, who has two years of eligibility remaining, will be a part of Louisiana roster next season.

A native of Richton, Mississippi, Smith attended high school at Petal High School, before signing with UTEP out of the prep ranks, where he averaged 5 points-per-game playing significant minutes as a freshman.

This season, after transferring to Jones County, the 6-foot-9 Smith has averaged 8.7 points, to go along with 5.4 rebounds a contest, while shooting 62% from the field.
