Tim Tebow suffered a somewhat embarrassing injury at spring training, yet somehow comes out of it by eliciting Mickey Mantle memories.

The 30 year old Heisman Trophy winner sprained his ankle at the New York Mets spring training complex in Florida when he stepped on a sprinkler head in the outfield.

"I'm trying to be smart about it and keep it (the ankle) taped," Tebow said yesterday.

Tebow, a non-roster invitee to Mets camp, played single A ball last season, his first full year of baseball.

New York Yankees Hall of Famer and all-time baseball great Mickey Mantle suffered a bad knee injury in 1951 when he was trying to make a play in the outfield and his cleat got caught on a piece of an underground sprinkler system.
