The first full night of conference play had some exciting games, with two decided in the final minute.  Here's a recap of what happened around the Sun Belt.

TROY 77, COASTAL CAROLINA 59--The Trojans got their fourth straight home victory by jumping out to a 14 point halftime lead.  It's the longest home winning streak for Troy (5-7, 1-0 Sun Belt) in the last three seasons.  Ty Gordon hit five triples on the way to a 17 point effort while Darian Adams added 13 points and five assists.  Coastal (7-4, 0-1) hit just 3-21 from three point range in the contest.  Keishawn Bruton's twelve points led the Chanticleers.

GEORGIA SOUTHERN 67, TEXAS STATE 64--In Statesboro, Ike Smith's three pointer with 51.9 seconds left proved to be the game winner as Georgia Southern (7-4, 1-0 Sun Belt) came back from a 15 point first half deficit to get the win.  The Eagles forced a pair of turnovers after Smith's shot and Nijal Pearson's three point attempt missed as the buzzer sounded.  Smith led Georgia Southern with 18 points, while David-Lee Jones, Jr. added 15.  Eric Terry led Texas State (7-5, 0-1) with 17 points.

GEORGIA STATE 83, UTA 77--Damon Wilson tied a career high with 22 points as Georgia State (7-3, 1-0 Sun Belt) won at home for the tenth straight time dating back to last season.  Kane Williams added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Panthers.  UTA was 17-17 from the free throw line but turned the ball over 20 times in losing for the fourth straight game.  David Azore led the Mavericks (4-8, 0-1) with 23 points.

APPALACHIAN STATE 81, SOUTH ALABAMA 71--Justin Forrest scored a season high 32 points as App State surprised the preseason favorites in Mobile.  The Mountaineers (7-4, 1-0 Sun Belt) also got a double double from Isaac Johnson with 16 points and ten rebounds.  App State trailed by two at the half, but scored seven straight points coming out of the locker room to take control.  Andre Fox led three Jaguars (6-5, 0-1) in double figures with 23 points.

LITTLE ROCK 73, ULM 72--Marquis Nowell's eighth three pointer of the game, a 30-footer with three seconds remaining, lifted Little Rock (7-5, 1-0) over ULM (4-5, 0-1) at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.  The Warhawks led 69-63 when Nowell hit a triple with 36.5 left to get within three.  After a  pair of ULM free throws, Nowell struck again with 22.2 remaining to make the score 71-69.  Michael Ertel, who scored 23 points for ULM, hit one of two from the free throw line to make it a three point game.  Jaizec Lottie made one of two free throws and then tied up Ertel on the rebound to give LIttle Rock the last possession.  Nowell led all scorers with 33 points.  J. D. Williams had 24 for ULM.
