In addition to the festivities tonight in Statesboro, Georgia between the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and Georgia Southern Eagles (Steve Peloquin has a preview here,) there's plenty more action around the league with four other games tap.

TROY (6-7, 1-3) AT UL MONROE (9-6, 3-1)  The red hot Warhawks have won three straight and that 3-1 record in the league is impressive considering two of those wins have come on the road.  They've got a pair of games at home this week before their visit to Lafayette on Monday.  Keith Richard's team is 6-0 at home this year with an average margin of victory of 24 ppg.  The Warhawks are doing it with their defense, leading the league in field goal defense, 3 pt. defense and blocked shots.  For Troy, Wesley Person and Musa Abdul-Aleem are the league's second and third leading scorers in conference games, with both averaging over 20 ppg.  Person's 2.92 triples per game is the best in the nation among freshmen.  Abdul-Aleem is a perfect 17-17 in free throws in league play.

ARKANSAS STATE (6-8, 1-4) AT APPALACHIAN STATE (4-9, 1-3)--These two teams meet in a rematch of a game in Jonesboro which began Arkansas State's four game skid.  The Red Wolves led in that game, 55-41 with 10:18 to go, but lost, 74-73.  The Red Wolves haven't won since. The latest was an embarrassing loss to UT Arlington, a game where ASU started 3-17 from the field, trailed by as many as 22 in the first half and were down by as many as 30 points in the second half.  Since the 2010-11 season, Arkansas State is 3-14 in the month of January.  Appalachian State hasn't fared much better, dropping three straight since that win in Jonesboro.  This will be only the fourth game at home this season for App, which has played three of its first four league games away from Boone.

UT ARLINGTON (9-6, 3-2) at GEORGIA STATE (10-6, 3-2)--Georgia State played their game last Saturday without Ryan Harrow who was sidelined by a toe injury.  He is expected to be back in the lineup tonight and that's good news for the Panthers, who face a very capable Mavericks team tonight.  UTA has been a balanced team this year and their two losses in the league have been by a grand total of eight points.  UTA has only one player who averages double figures.  They have eleven players who average ten or more minutes per game.

SOUTH ALABAMA (4-11, 2-3) at TEXAS STATE (9-5, 3-2)  Contrasting styles in this one as the Jaguars take on the ultra-patience Bobcats at Strachan Coliseum.  Texas State has won a pair of double overtime contests in league play but stumbled at home against ULM in their last game.  On nights the Jags are shooting it, they can be pretty dangerous.  They've got multiple weapons and aren't afraid to use all of them.  USA needs to have someone step up inside and challenge Emani Gant if they're going to have a chance to win.
