Introducing The Starting Lineup

Townsquare Media of Lafayette and ESPN 1420 are pleased to announce the addition of The Starting Lineup, a brand-new morning show that will air Monday-Thursday from 7-9am on ESPN 1420, ESPN1420.com, and streamed live on RadioPup.

Steve Peloquin and Cody Junot will host The Starting Lineup, Acadiana’s new home for morning sports talk.

“I’m excited about the kind of show I’ll be doing and who I’ll be doing it with.” Peloquin said. “I hosted Thinking Out Loud for 15-years, and I just wouldn’t give that up to do any other show, with just any other person. I look forward to the back-and-forth that good debate is all about, and giving the sports fans of Acadiana a fun and informative way of kicking off their day.”

Beginning August 14^th, The Starting Lineup will give listeners a platform to gather and hear a multitude of guests, offering valuable insights and expertise into the Cajuns, Tigers, and Saints as well as the latest national stories. Listeners are invited to partake in The Starting Lineup over the phone, through the ESPN 1420 Twitter feed, and via email.

Peloquin, the 2013 SBC Broadcaster of the Year, has over 25 years of radio broadcasting experience, including the last 18 with ESPN1420.

Junot joined the ESPN1420 family in February of 2016. In addition to fill-in duties, he co-hosted Acadiana Postgame with Ryan Baniewicz. He is also currently the Associate Managing Editor of CollegeAD.com, a website delivering news and information in college sports business.

"Steve and Cody share different perspectives, outlooks, and strong opinions on sports, but they compliment one another very well," said Prather. "The two will bring in depth coverage of the local sports scene while embracing debate the sports world offers every day."
