Like it or not, the NFL Pro Bowl will return in 2014.

Next year's game is scheduled for Sunday, January 26,  in Hawaii.

There has been discussion about whether or not to continue the game, but NFL Commissioner made it official on Wednesday, confirming that the game will take place after the week after the conference championships, and the week prior to the Super Bowl.

The first 21 Pro Bowl games, from 1951-1972, were played in Los Angeles, California, before alternating sites, annually,  from 1973-1979.

Since then, Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii has hosted the Pro Bowl every year, beginning in 1980, with the exception of the 2010 Pro Bowl, which was held at Sun Life Stadium, which played host to Super Bowl XLIV that year.

The NFL is still considering possible changes to the Pro Bowl format, such as eliminating the traditional NFC/AFC match-up, and possibly instituting a format where two  predetermined captains of each team would select their entire squads.
