The first casualty of Hurricane Isaac in the college football world was announced Tuesday.  Citing potential safety issues for players and fans, Louisiana Tech has moved what would have been its season opener against Texas A&M to Saturday, October 13.

The game, which was plagued by slow ticket sales, was scheduled for Thursday night at Independence Stadium in Shreveport.

Rescheduling the game was easy, since both teams had a scheduled open date on October 13.

The change means Texas A&M will open its season, and its participation in the Southeastern Conference Sept. 8 when they travel to Florida.  Tech will now open its season at Houston.
